Dr Alex Thomas - Counselling Psychologist
After transitioning from a corporate career, I found my true calling as a therapist, driven by my personal journey through trauma. The profound support and guidance I received from an exceptional therapist during that challenging time inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others navigate their own struggles. With a deep sense of empathy, professional expertise, and a commitment to fostering resilience, I aim to empower my clients on their path to healing and self-discovery.
Having been both a client and a therapist, I have a unique perspective on the therapeutic process. I understand the courage it takes to seek support and the transformative power of therapy. My approach is active and engaged, working collaboratively with individuals as they explore their search for meaning, direction, and personal growth.
My clinical experience spans working within the NHS and the third sector, where I've supported individuals facing a wide range of challenges. My specialties include trauma, anxiety, burnout, substance misuse, and supporting those living with long-term health conditions, including HIV.
In addition to my private practice, I also work at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic, where I continue to expand my practice and provide care to a diverse range of clients.
I am a registered member of the BACP and a registered Counselling Psychologist with the HCPC.
